He had discussed plans for the celebration of his 100th birthday. He had enjoyed good health until a few months ago when he suffered a bad fall. Mr. Reehl was born in Strathford, Ont, Aug 30, 1856 and came to Austin Twp, Sanilac Co in 1882. Since 1916 he lived in Bad Axe. For many years he was a stone mason and built the foundations for many homes, barns and other buildings. He farmed for a number of years and cleared many acres of land in Sanilac County. Mr. Reehl was a member of the Lutheran church and attended regularly until old age made it difficult for him to get in and out of cars. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Richard Schmidt and two sons, Daniel and William, all of Bad Axe; 22 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren. Mrs. Reehl died in 1922. A son Charles Reehl was killed in WW I. Funeral services were held Wed afternoon in Our Savior Luth ch with Rev Karl H Trautmann officiating. Burial was in Colfax cemetery.
