Mary Ann (Trepkowski) Roberts
April 13, 1899 - October 24, 1948
Ruth, Oct. 25 - Mrs. Mary Ann Roberts, 49, wife of August Roberts and Gold 
Star Mother of World War II, died Sunday in Hubbard Memorial Hospital, Bad 
Axe, where she was a patient 2 ½  weeks.  The remains are in the family home 
where the Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Tuesday by Rev. Frank W. Kaufmann 
and Christian Mothers of Ruth.  Father Kaufmann will conduct funeral 
services at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church.  
Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Roberts is survived by her husband, five daughters, Mrs. Joseph 
Czolgosz, Saginaw; Mr. Lloyd Des Jardins, Port Huron, and Delores, Joan and 
Mary Anne Roberts, all of Ruth; two sons, Lavern and Leland Roberts, both of 
Ruth; a grandchild, her father, Frank Trepkowski, Bay City; two sisters, 
Mrs. Roman Smoder and Mrs. Alois Memmer, both of Saginaw, and five brothers, 
Edward and Robert Trepkowski, both of Bay City; Peter and John Trepkowski, 
both of Saginaw, and Leo Trepkowski, Owosso, Mich.  A son, Pfc. Ralph E. 
Roberts, was killed in action in Europe January 1, 1945.  The family has 
asked that the remains be returned home.  Mrs. Roberts was born April 13, 
1899, in Bay City and lived in Sherman Township, Huron County, since 1921.
