Dorothy Marie (Messing) Roggenbuck 
August 10, 1925 - November 21, 2009
Dorothy Marie (Messing) Roggenbuck, 84, of the Helena-Harbor Beach area, 
passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Meadow Lane Assisted 
Living while under hospice care.   She was born August 10, 1925 in Ruth, to 
the late Henry and Lena (Tenbusch) Messing.   Dorothy married Jerome 
Roggenbuck on October 29, 1947 in St.  Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church in 
Ruth.   They spent their entire married life farming in the Helena area.   He 
preceded her in death on October 3, 1984.   She was a member of St.  Anthony’s 
Catholic Church of Helena and of the Altar Society.   She enjoyed quilting, 
gardening, playing cards and visiting with family and friends.  She called 
planning/cooking a holiday dinner or going out to eat “her party.”  

Dorothy is survived by seven children: her daughter, Audrey Holdwick and her 
husband, Bill, and their five children: Tammy, Eric (Joann), Kevin (Jodie), 
Greg and Keith (Abbey); son: Don and his wife, Carmen, and his three sons, 
Andy, Steve and Joe; son: Herb and his wife, Joann, and their two sons: Joshua 
(Sara) and Justin (Ellie); son: Dennis and his wife, Kathy, and their son, 
Tony (Lori); son: Duane and his wife, Maggie, and his two children, Rebecca 
and Jeremy (Kayla); son: Terry and his wife, Bernadette, and their two 
children, Ryan (Carol) and Andrea (Doug) Lobert; and daughter: Lynn Liebeskind 
and her husband, Jeff, and their daughter, Jessica.   She is also survived by 
seven great-grandchildren: Cole and Kacie (Tony) Roggenbuck; Travis and Tyler 
(Kevin) Holdwick; William (Ryan) Roggenbuck; Gabriel (Andrea) Lobert; Quentin 
(Keith) Holdwick.   She is survived by four step-grandchildren: Don 
(Roseanne);  Jim and Matt McQueen and Edson Ramirez Bazon (Don); three step-
great-grandchildren: McKenzie Peruski (Keith Holdwick), Brady and Avery (Don) 
McQueen.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Dorothy was 
preceded in death by one granddaughter, Emily Holdwick in 1970 and by all of 
her Messing Siblings and their spouses: Anna (Henry) Essenmacher, Leo 
(Laurette) Messing, Clara (Joseph) Clor, Helen (Roman) Kirsch, Walter 
(Dorothy) Messing, Magdalene (George) Kranz, Leonard (Theresa) Messing,  
Andrew (Genevieve) Messing,  Arthur (Catherine) Messing,  Lawrence (Margaret) 
Messing, Eleanor (John) Adler,  Irene (Walter) Samulski; sisters-in-law, 
Rochelle Roggenbuck, Aletha Romzek, and Monica DeYoung; and brothers-in-law, 
Glen Roggenbuck and Tony Roth.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m.  on Wednesday, November  25, 2009 at St.  
Anthony’s Catholic Church, Helena with Fr.  Bill Spencer officiating.  A 
parish vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m.  Tuesday in the Ramsey Funeral Home, 
Harbor Beach.   Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m.  Tuesday in the funeral 
home and from 10 a.m.  to the time of the service on Wednesday at the St.  
Anthony’s Church.   Memorial may be given to St.  Anthony’s Renovation Fund.
