He was the 5th of seven children, born on August 30, 1955 in Harbor Beach, Michigan to Irvin and Ernestine Romzek. He married Cathy Klee on June 26, 2006. He attended St Mary Catholic School in Parisville. He graduated from Ubly Community School in 1973. Raph worked for Bob Smith Builders in his early career and more recently with Easting Construction, Traverse City, Michigan, until his death. He enjoyed his children, grandchildren, wood, golfing, sitting around campfires, deer hunting, sports, quiet time, nature, and the cabin in the woods. He will be missed by all those that loved him with special mention to Bob Smith. Thank you to all that brought him comfort in his final days. From his siblings, He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother. Raphael is survived by his wife, Cathy; one son, Andrew (Alicia) Romzek, Cedar; two daughters, Tracey (Rick) Hitz, Bay City, and Lisa (Travis) Chinoski, Port Austin; five grandchildren, Bella and Ben Romzek, Carter Glaza, and Sydney Hitz, and Savannah Chinoski; five brother, Art (Marlene) Romzek, Daniel (Susan) Romzek, Michael S. (Margaret) Romzek, Isadore (Marian) Romzek, Timothy (Marlene) Romzek; one sister, Marie (Paul) Heilig; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Raph was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Ernestine Romzek; in-laws, Raymond and Donna Roberts; and his Godfather, Charles Knoll. In keeping with Raphaels wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service in celebration of his life at a later date at the cabin in the woods during the warmth of summer. Memorials may be made to any Hospice of your choice.
