Charlotte (Micklash) Romzek September 13, 1942 – June 12, 2021 Mrs. Charlotte Romzek, 78 of Deckerville passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021 in Deckerville. She was born September 13, 1942 in Bad Axe to the late Elmer T. and Beatrice A. (Kubacki) Micklash. She married George J. Romzek on July 8, 1961 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Smith Corners, Ubly. Charlotte attended a country school and then graduated from Ubly High School, where she worked as the secretary from 1960-1962. She then attended SC4 Nursing School, graduating in 1972. She worked as a nurse for 30 years, became employed first at McKenzie Hospital and then at the Sanilac County Medical Care Facility. Charlotte enjoyed sewing, quilting, flower gardening, cooking and baking and playing cards. She loved dancing, especially polka music. Charlotte loved listening to Polka Joe's radio show and going to Frankenmuth to dance with Molly B on her television show in Michigan and as well as in Florida when they traveled there. They also danced polkas in Texas as well. Charlotte is survived by her husband of 59 years, George J. Romzek of Deckerville; one son, Nick (Judy) Romzek of Sandusky; two daughters, Sharon (Tim) Mac Fadyen of Poinciana, Florida, Ann (Paul) Green of North Branch; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Pat (Ron) Schenk of Bad Axe; three brothers, Ken (Theresa) Micklash of South Lyon, Tom (Jeanne) Micklash of W. Columbia, South Carolina, Bob (Karen) Micklash of Fort Meyers, Florida; sisters-in-law, Mary Knoll, Julia Steele, Agnes Hool and Dorothy Rinke; one brother-in-law, David (Geri) Romzek. She was preceded in death by one grandson, brothers-in-law, Irvin Romzek, Eugene Romzek, Raymond Romzek and Benedict Romzek; one sister-in-law, Irene Schevokas. The Mass of Christian burial for Charlotte will be 11:00 am Thursday, June 17 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Good Shepherd Parish in Argyle. Rev. Nate Harburg, pastor, will officiate. Charlotte's family will visit with friends Thursday from 10:00-10:45 am at St. Joseph Church only. Memorials requested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of the donor's choice.
