Tony was born December 30, 1918 in Palms, to the late George and Clara (Heilig) Roth. He married Edna Roggenbuck June 5, 1946 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Helena. Tony was a graduate of the Hunt Country School where he later became a member of the school board. He attended Minden City High School. Tony was a dairy farmer all his life and was a member of the Michigan Milk Producers Association. He was a master fixer and enjoyed working with his sons. Tony was a parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Palms where he was a member of the parish council for many years. He was an usher, choir member and former member of the Men's Club at St. Patrick's. He also worked many brunches and other church functions. He was a former member of the Ruth Knights of Columbus Council No. 3823. Tony loved to play cards and was the host of the Palms Euchre Group. He was a member of the Deckerville Senior Citizens. Tony is survived by his wife of 60 years, Edna; 13 children, Louise (Ray) Weber of Minden City, Dr. Julie (Jim) Roth-Schwartz of Lakewood, Colorado, Rhonda (Gary) Lang of Littleton, Colorado, Dr. Elizabeth (Barry Segal) Roth of Morrison, Colorado, Leslie (Margo) Roth of Bad Axe, James (Vicki) Roth of Bad Axe, Phil (Ellen) Roth of Bad Axe, Joseph (Carol) Roth of Minden City, Martin (Adrienne) Roth of Greeley, Colorado, Dan (Muriel) Roth of Pt. Ewen, N.Y., Christopher Roth of Littleton, Colorado, Gregory Roth of Thornton, Colorado, and John Roth of Pt. Sanilac; 24 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Emma Casstevens of Pontiac and Mary (Walter) Phare of Port Huron; sister-in-law, Beatrice Roth of Palms. Tony was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Roth; two sisters, Helen Franzel and Mabel (John) Roberts. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2007 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Palms. Sr. Mary Ann Ankoviak, pastoral administrator of St. Patrick's, and Rev. T.J. Fleming, pastor of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach, will officiate. Burial will be in the SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Ruth. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Smigielski Funeral Home on Cass Ave. in Minden City, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Church. There will be a parish vigil service at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home by Sr. Mary Ann Ankoviak. Memorials are requested to go to Deckerville Hospital or St. Patrick Church in Palms.
