Miss Julia Ryan
Bad Axe, Aug 1 --Miss Julia Ryan, 80, lifelong resident of Huron County, died 
Tuesday afternoon in Hubbard Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Funeral 
services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thurs. in Sacred Heart Cath ch. Most Rev 
Allen J Babcock D.D. Auxiliary Bishop of Detroit, a nephew of Miss Ryan, will 
say the Mass. Very Rev Charles A Roark, pastor, will assist. Burial will be in 
Colfax Cemetery. Miss Ryan is survived by two sisters, Mrs. A K Burroughs, 
Detroit and Mrs. A J Clark, Bad Axe, and several nephews and nieces. She was 
born Oct 22, 1870 in Port Austin, member of a prominent Huron County family. Her 
father, James Ryan, was a pioneer hotel proprietor and businessman. A brother, 
John Ryan, was a banking leader Remains are in the home of her nephew, Donald R. 
Clark.
