Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and dear friend passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at her residence, age 90 years. Alice was born October 20, 1918 in Bay City to the late Edward and Martha (Posluszny) Glaza. She married Ambrose Rybak on November 21, 1936 and he predeceased her in 1990. She was a member of St. Hyacinth Church, the Mothers Club and a life member of St. Hyacinth Rosary Society. Alice loved spending time with her family, which she referred to as "the love of her life." She also prayed the Rosary seven times a day for her family and friends. Surviving are four children: Pat (Ken) Ritter, Mike (Chris) Rybak, Rick (Barb) Rybak and Kay (Brad) Gorr; eleven grandchildren: Larry (Peg), Terry (Laura) Van Zale, Kern (Amelia), Denny Lask, Michelle (Mike) Galloner, Michael (Sara) Rybak, Scott (Meaghan), Patrick, Shaun (Andrea) Rybak, Karissa and Justin Gorr; eleven great grandchildren: Shannon (Tim) Boyk, Kelly Van Zale, Emily, Ben, Bryce, Gannon Van Zale, Keygan, Rylee, Brendyn Galloner, Michael III and Jacob Rybak; one sister, Beatrice Chesney; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Alice was predeceased by a son, Kenny; four brothers: Leonard (Ruth), Ted (Mary), Emil (Christine) and John Glaza and five sisters: Edna (Frank) Filary, Florence (Fred) Schueler, Ann (Jack) Youngblood, Virginia and Stephanie Glaza. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Hyacinth Church. Fr. Edward J. Konieczka will celebrate Mass at interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Friends may call at the church only on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Members of St. Hyacinth Rosary Society will pray the Rosary in church on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. There are no visitation hours at the Ambrose Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be considered to St. Hyacinth Church Renovation Fund or McLaren Visiting Nurse and Hospice.
