Calvin Rapson Sgt. Calvin Rapson, who on June 14 was reported missing in action, was killed in action over Romania May 31, according to a notice received from the War Department, Friday by his widow, Mrs. Flora Slavin Rapson. Besides his widow, Sgt. Rapson is survived by a 15 month old daughter, Judith Mary; his mother, Mrs. Dora Hollingshead, Bad Axe; two sisters, Mrs. Harold Townley and Miss Virginia Rapson, both of Bad Axe; and three brothers, Isaac Rapson, Bad Aze; Herbert Rapson, Detroit and Henry Rapson, Bay City. Sgt Rapson was born in Bad Axe March 28, 1924. He had been in the army 16 months. On Oct 9 Mrs Rapson’s mother, Mrs. Michael Slavin, received word that her son, Pfc. Thomas Slavin, had died in France Sept 15 of wounds suffered in action. Another son, Sgt. Stanley Slavin, was wounded in France Sept 15. Memorial services for Sgt. Rapson will be held on Sunday, Oct 19 at 3p.m. in the Baptist church here. dz
