Mrs. Allan Schantz
Ubly, Jan 8 -- Mrs. Hannah Katherine Schantz, 81, wife of Allan Schantz and 
lifelong resident of Bingham Twp, died late Sun night in her home in this 
village after a brief illness. She was born Aug 31, 1869, in Bingham Twp, 
daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Henry Jurges, pioneer residents. She and Mr. 
Shantz were married July 4, 1892 at Ruth. They observed their 58th wedding 
anniversary in 1950.  They farmed many yrs before they moved 4 yrs ago to Ubly. 

Mrs. Schantz is survived by her husband, a son, Albert Schantz, Bad Axe; five 
daughters, Mrs. Thomas Reid, Bay City; Mrs. Harold Gingrich, East Detroit, MI; 
Miss Emma Schantz, Gerry, NY; Mrs. Harold Tibbits, Port Huron, and Mrs. Merle 
Hazelton, Memphis; 13 grandchildren, two brothers, Fred and John Jurges, both of 
Ubly and two sisters, Miss Mary Jurges, Ubly and Mrs. George Mills, Bad Axe.  
Mrs Schantz was a member 40 yrs of Bingham Free Methodist ch and its Women's 
Missionary society.  

The remains are in her home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wed in 
the home and at 2 p.m. in Bingham Free Methodist ch. Rev Lloyd Ehmcke will 
officiate. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery
