Frances Marion (Pfaff) Schefka
April 14, 1921 – June 1, 1997
Mrs. Frances M. Schefka, age 76, of Ubly, died Sunday evening, June 1, 1997 at 
her residence after an extended illness.  She was born April 14, 1921 in Bad 
Axe, daughter of the late Clarence and Agnes (Klama) Pfaff.  She married Casimer 
Schefka on September 14, 1940 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Parisville.  She 
was a graduate of Bad Axe High School and a former parishioner of Sacred Heart 
Parish of Bad Axe.  She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Parish of Parisville, a 
former president and life member of St. Mary's Rosary Sodality, and a member of 
the Parisville VFW Post #5740 Ladies Auxiliary.  She was a former chairman of 
the St. Mary's Parish Picnic. 

She is survived by her husband, Casimer "Cass" of Ubly; one son, Bernard Schefka 
and his wife, Kay, of Utica; four daughters, Mary Anna Longuski and her husband, 
Marvin, of Peck, Delphine Czewski and her husband, James, of Ubly, Jean and 
Elaine Schefka of Ubly; seven grandsons, three granddaughters and five great-
grandchildren; one brother, Earl Pfaff and his wife, Doris, of Ruth; and one 
sister-in-law, Irene O'Berski of Bad Axe. She was preceded in death by one 
brother, Clarence Pfaff; and one brother-in-law, Roman O'Berski. Funeral 
services were Wednesday at St.  Mary's Catholic Church in Parisville. Rev. 
Michael Dunckel, pastor, officiated. Rev. Stanley Surman, pastor of St. Joseph's 
parish in Sandusky, concelebrated.  Burial was in the church cemtery. 
Arrangements were conducted by the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly.
