Times Herald (Port Huron, Michigan) December 11, 1959 & December 12, 1959
SCHMIDT, JOSEPH M. Age 70, of Paris Township, Huron County, died December 
11th.  Remains will be at the Zinger Funeral Home, In Ubly after Saturday 
noon.  Funeral services will be held at a solemn mass, 9:30 am. Monday 
morning at St. Mary’s Catholic church at Parisville.  Burial will be In the 
Church Cemetery.  Rosary devotions will be held at, 1 p.m. Sunday at the 
funeral home.  Published Times Herald (Port Huron, Michigan) Saturday 
December 12, 1959

Joseph M. Schmidt, 70, retired farmer and Deputy Sheriff many years in Paris 
Township, Huron County, died today in the Huron Community Health Center 
after a long illness.  Born April 9, 1889, In Detroit, he came with his 
parents to Paris Township at five years of age.  He and Regina Lackowski 
were married November 18, 1942, in Detroit.  Surviving are his widow, a 
step-daughter, Mrs. Angelo Lopez, and four stepsons, Clarence Lackowski, Bad 
Axe, William, Marshall and Alex Lackowski, all of Ruth.  Remains will be at 
the Zinger funeral home in Ubly after Saturday noon.  Funeral services will 
be held Monday morning in St. Mary's Catholic church at Parisville.  Other 
arrangements are incomplete.  Published Times Herald (Port Huron, Michigan)
