Catherine Elizabeth (Koenders) Schock
June 1, 1870 – July 13, 1964
MRS. FRANK SCHOCK – RUTH - Mrs. Catherine Schock, 94, widow of Frank Schock, 
died Monday in Huron Community Health Center after a long illness.   Born June 
1, 1870, in Rockport, Ohio, daughter of the late Gerhardt and Caroline (Tunte) 
Koenders, she came with her parents as a small girl to Sherman Township, Huron 
County.  She lived there until 1935 when she moved to Ruth.  She and Mr. Schock 
were married November 28, 1905 in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Ruth.  
He died December 22, 1934 

Mrs. Schock was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers of SS. Peter 
and Paul Church.  She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in SS. Peter and Paul 
Church by Rt. Rev. Msgr. Frank W,. Kaufmann.  Burial will be in the church 
cemetery.  The remains will be in the Zinger Funeral Home at Ruth after 7 p.m., 
today.  The Rosary will be recited at the funeral by Monsignor Kaufmann at 8 
p.m., Wednesday.  Published Port Huron Times Herald Tuesday July 14, 1964

Notes:  According to the marriage records, their actual marriage date was November 
298, 1903, not 1905.
