John F. Scholtz
June 14, 1910 - August 4, 1974
John F. Scholtz, 64, died Sunday in Harbor Beach Community Hospital after a 
long illness.  He was born June 14, 1910, in Harbor Beach.  He married Helen 
Booms June 14, 1938, in Helena.  Mr. Scholtz was a parishioner of Our Lady 
of Lake Huron Catholic Church. 

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Richard Scholtz, Phoenix, Arizona, 
Robert Scholtz, East Lansing, and Brian Scholtz, Harbor Beach; 11 daughters, 
Mrs. Diane Volmering, Harbor Beach, Mrs. Judith Cremers, Utica, Michigan, 
Mrs. Joan O'Neil, Somerville, New Jersey, Mrs. Elia Elizabeth Harder, Port 
Huron, Mrs. Marlene O'Connor, Pontiac, Mrs. Lorene Brommer and Miss Margo 
Scholtz, both of East Lansing, and Patricia, Sherrie, Denise and Carol 
Scholtz, all of Harbor Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Booms and Mrs. Laura 
Booms, both of Harbor Beach, and 12 grandchildren.  

The remains are in Ramsey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 
a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Lake Huron Church with Rev. Bela Torok, 
pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.  A Rosary will 
be recited at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.  Times Herald (Port 
Huron, Michigan) Monday August 5, 1974.

Note:  Born to Albert & Mary (Wolschlager) Scholtz.  Correct surname for 
Lorene is Bronner, not Brommer
