Laverne William Schumacher
May 26, 1911 - January 20, 1986
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 23. 1986, at Sts. Peter and 
Paul Catholic Church, Ruth, for LaVerne W. Schumacher, 74, who died Monday 
at Huron Memorial Hospital, Bad Axe, after a short illness.  The Rev. Loren 
Kalinowski, pastor, officiated.  Burial was in the church cemetery.  
Mr. Schumacher was born May 26, 1911 in Sherman Township, son of the late 
Frank and Helena (Kramer) Schumacher.  He married Evelyn Abraham on November 
27, 1937 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Parisville.  He was a lifelong 
member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ruth, and a former member of 
Ruth Knights of Columbus.  Mr. Schumacher farmed in Sherman Township until 
his retirement in 1973.  He also worked for the former Huron Milling Co., 
Harbor Beach, from 1950 to 1962 and the Deckerville Die Form Co. from 1968 
to 1973. 
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn; five daughters, Mrs. Alger (Sharon) 
Pawloski, Greenbush, Mrs. Garth (Sandra) O'Mara, Harbor Beach, Mrs. Gerald 
(Deanna) Wolschleger and Mrs. Wayne (Kay) Stomack, both of Minden City, and 
Mrs. Gary (Joan) Kirsch, Ruth; four sons, Paul Schumacher and James 
Schumacher, both of Sterling Heights, Staff Sgt. Daniel Schumacher, 
stationed with the U.S. Army in Radcliff, Kentucky, and Michael Schumacher, 
Deckerville; 23 grandchildren and one great-grandson; one brother, Henry 
Schumacher, Forestville and one sister, Mrs. Floyd (Florence) Abraham, Ruth. 
Wake service was held Wednesday evening at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral 
Home, Ubly.  Published Minden City Herald Thursday January 30, 1986
