Shumacher, 72, Ruth died Thursday, June 23, 1988 at her home after an apparent heart attack. She was born February 23, 1916 In Paris Township, daughter of the late Jacob and Bertha (Lackowski) Abraham. She married LaVern Schumacher November 27, 1937 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Parisville. He preceded her in death January 20, 1986. Mrs. Schumacher was employed as a cook at Deckerville Community Hospital from 1971-81. She was a member of Sts. Peter, and Paul Catholic Church, Ruth, since 1937. She was also a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Christian Mothers. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Alger (Sharon) Pawloski, Green Busch, Mrs. Garth (Sandra) O'Mara, Harbor Beach, Mrs. Gerald (Deanna) Wolschleger, Minden City, Mrs. Gary (Joan) Klrsch, Ruth, and Mrs. Wayne (Kay) Stomack, Minden City; four sons, Paul Schumacher and James Schumacher both of Sterling Heights, Staff Sgt. Daniel Schumacher, U.S. Army, Radcliff, Kentucky, and Michael Schumacher, Deckerville; 25 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; five brothers, Alfred Abraham, Harbor Beach, Paul Abraham, Royal Oak, Melvin Abraham, East Detroit, Floyd Abraham, Ruth and Alger Abraham, Warren; three sisters. Mrs. Edmund (Jean) Piskor, Warren, Ruth O’Malley, Ubly, and Mrs. John (Bebe Ann) Frahm, St. Clair Shores; and many nieces and nephews. Services were held 11a.m. Monday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Loren Kalinowski, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. A rosary was offered 8 p.m. Saturday by the Sts. Peter and Paul Christian Mothers and a parish wake service, was held Sunday at 8 p.m. Funeral arrangements were conducted by the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly.
