Raymond Anton Joseph Schumacher
August 23, 1908 - January 30, 1984
Ray A.J. Schumacher, 75, of Ruth, died Monday of an apparent heart attack at 
Harbor Beach Community Hospital.  He was born the son of the late Frederick and 
Catherine (Terbrack) Schumacher.  He and Miss Lavretta Kirsch were married June 
14, 1932 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Helena.  He was Sherman Twonship 
Treasurer from 1943-1953.  He farmed in Sherman Township until 1965.  Mr. 
Schumacher retired from Midwest Rubber, Deckerville in 1973.  He was a member of 
Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church all his life.  

He is survived by his wife Lavretta, two sons. Lloyd Schumacher of Minden City, 
and Thomas Schumacher of Harbor Beach; four daughters, Mrs. Richard (Arlene) 
Martin of Livona, Mrs. John (Ann Marie) Uicker of Madison, Wisconsin, Mrs. 
Donald (Bessie) Kirsch of Harbor Beach, Mrs. Ronald (Jane) Volmering of Harbor 
Beach; 29 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.  He had no brothers and 
sisters. 

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 
Ruth.  The Rev. Loren Kalinowski, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in the 
church cemetery.  Local arrangements were made by the Zinger - Smigielski 
Funeral Home, Ubly.  Published Minden City Herald Thursday February 2, 1984.
