Seidl, “Dee Dee” 88 of Ruth, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at her residence under hospice care with her loving family by her side. She was born on March 11, 1925 in Lakeview, Michigan to the late Russell and Gertrude (Bigler) Feldt. She married Theodore “Ted” Seidl on July 10, 1948 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. Carla Ann Feldt Carla was a 1942 graduate of Lakeview High School and a 1946 graduate of the Butterworth Hospital Nursing School. She also completed the WWII Nursing Cadet program. Carla worked in area hospitals for 25 years. She also farmed with her family and was a 4-H leader for Helping Hands. Carla was a parishioner at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth where she was a current member of the Christian Mothers. She also taught basketball at Sts. Peter & Paul High School for 5 years. Carla was chosen to be Mama Ruth at the annual church picnic. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella Fidelis Regina Circle #608. She enjoyed reading, gardening, crocheting and traveling with her husband and family throughout the United States. Carla is survived by her husband of 65 years, Theodore “Ted” Seidl of Ruth, six daughters, Rustina “Rusty” Bourell of Ruth, Beth (Mark) Williams of Williamsburg, MI, Kerri Hartfield of Redford, Vicki Seidl of Grand Rapids, Trudi Seidl and Denise Seidl, both of Livonia; three sons: Peter (Kathleen) of Royal Oak, Wayne (Dawn) of Remus, Lester (Margaret) of Rochester Hills; 21 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Katherine Seidl of Oxford; one sister, Murial Prusinski of Grand Rapids; two sisters-in-law, Annabell Seidl of Ruth and Marie Seidl of Huntington Woods. She was preceded in death by three sons, Steven, Roy and Phillip Seidl; one sister, Charline Rivers; one daughter-in-law, Lynn Seidl, one son-in-law, Joseph Bourell. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 30 at Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Holy Apostle Parish in Ruth. Rev. Peter Nwokoye, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Monday from 6:00-9:00 pm, Tuesday from 3:00-9:00 pm and Wednesday from 10:00-11:00 am at Sts. Peter & Paul Church only. There will be a joint rosary Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 pm by Sts. Peter & Paul Christian Mothers and Daughters of Isabella Fidelis Regina Circle #608. Memorials have been requested to St. Jude Hospital or any hospice of donor’s choice.
