John August Selke
April 14, 1907 - October 10, 1986
Services were held Monday for John A. Selke, 79, Sherman Township, who died 
Friday, October 10, at his home after an apparent heart attack.  He was born 
April 14, 1907 in Sherman Township, son of the late August and Augusta (Flarka) 
Selke.  He married Adeline Clor November 4, 1933 in St. Clair.  He was a retired 
Sherman Township farmer and a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Forestville.  
He formerly was secretary of White Rock School Board for 20 years. 

Surviving are his wife, Adeline; one daughter, Alice Woychowski, Harbor Beach; 
four grandchildren; three sisters, Mamie Pauly, St. Clair, Clara Hunter, 
Detroit, and Esther Selke, Dearborn Heights.  He was preceded in death by one 
son, John H. Selke, in 1985. 

Services were at St. John's Catholic Church.  The Rev. Stephen Fillion, pastor, 
at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Helena, officiated.  Burial was in the church 
cemetery.   Arrangements were by Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach.  Published 
Harbor Beach Times Thursday October 16, 1986.
