She was born May 5, 1908 in Paris Township, daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine (Dropiewski) Glaza. Miss Minnie Glaza and John Shemka Sr., were married February 8, 1932 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parisville. He preceded her in death August 14, 1975. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Parisville and a member of Its Holy Rosary Sodality. She moved to Ubfy in 1960. Surviving are two sons, Laverne Shemka, Port Hope, and John Shemka, Ubly; two daughters, Mrs. Archie (Marie) Pionk Ubly and Mrs. Jeannette Lemanski, Frankenmuth; 19 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer Glaza, Detroit and Stanley Glaza, Ruth; and one sister, Mrs. Irene Osentoskl, Ubly. One son, Harry, two brothers and four sisters preceded her in death. Services were 11 a.m. Thursday. March 21 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Parisville. Rev. Leonard Wilkuskl officiated. Burial was in the Paris Township Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were conducted by the Zinger Smigielski Funeral Home, Ubly.
