The remains are in the Alden A MacAlpine funeral home where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thurs by Rev Manson H Lowe, pastor of First Presbyterian ch. Burial will be in Colfax Cemetery. Mr Sherman is survived by his widow, Selina, with whom he observed his 59th wedding anniversary March 24; 2 sons, Howard, Lodge Grass MT; and Wesley, Detroit; a daughter, Miss Beatrice Sherman, Bad Axe. 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs Daniel Shaw, Bad Axe and a brother, Merritt Sherman, Cass City; A son, William Sherman, was killed in action in WWI and Sherman-Elvin post No 96 American Legion, is named in his memory. Mr Sherman was born Oct 19, 1868 in Sodus Point, NY. He was active many years as race horse trainer. He was a life member of the Loyal Orange lodge.
