Siewert Henry J. Siewert, 38, Bad Axe auto dealer, was killed Wed afternoon when the 1948 model car he was driving overturned two miles southwest of Port Austin. Siewert, driving south on m-53, apparently lost control of the vehicle. It swerved off the right side of the road and then crossed to the left side where it struck a tree and overturned. He was thrown out of the car and was found pinned beneath it. He died of a compound fracture of the skull, according to coroner, Alden A MacAlpine. The mishap occurred at 4:15 p.m. Troopers Charles Conn, William Raven, and Orville Rouse investigated. Mr. Siewert was born June 27, 1913 at Kilmanagh. He came to Bad Axe to work in 1935. In 1942 he purchased a garage operated by Ben LaBelle. In 1942 he took over the Hudson agency in Bad Axe. Surviving him are his widow, Velma, one son, Henry John Siewert, Jr, at home; one brother Fred T. Siewert, Bad Axe, and his step mother, Mrs. Clara Siewert, Tawas. Funeral services will be conducted Sat at 2 p.m. from the Presbyterian church. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. The remains are in the MacAlpine funeral home.
