Mrs Slack, an invalid the last 3 years, was ill five days and was in bed the last 3 days. The remains are in the William T Collon funeral home. Funeral services have been tentatively set for Fri afternoon. Mrs Slack is survived by 6 sons, Warren A Slack, Bad Axe; Andrew and Hazen Slack, both of Detroit; Frank Slack, Ubly; Herbert Slack, Grand Rapids, and William Slack, Gerber, CA; 10 grandchildren an several great grandchildren. Mrs Slack, the former Miss Lucinda Jenkins, was born July 17, 1858 in Ontario. Her father died when she was 4 years old and her mother, Mrs Frances Jenkins, moved her family of 3 children to Cohoes, NY. In 1873, the family came to Bingham twp, Huron county. Mr and Mrs Slack were married June 11, 1876. They farmed until they moved to Bad Axe about 31 years ago. Mr Slack died Nov 17, 1936. Affectionately known as "Aunt Cindy," Mrs Slack had a wide circle of friends throughout the Thumb. She could remember when Huron County was a dense wilderness with bear and deer. She had a vivid memory of the great forest fire of 1881.
