Betty Ann (Peplin) Sliz
December 12, 1922 – January 10, 2016
Betty Ann (Peplin) Sliz, 93, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016 in Midland, 
after a short illness.  She was born in Detroit on December 12, 1922.  On 
December 31, 1941, she married Theodore Sliz.  Betty was a devoted Jehovah's 
Witness for over 70 years.  She taught piano to many students and was "Nanu" to 
more people than just her grandchildren. 

Betty is survived by her two daughters, Teddy Jeanne Cresmen and Marji Kay 
Pomranky; grandchildren, Wendy (Brian) Ellison, Michele (Greg) Cresmen-Block, 
Travis (Kathy) Pomranky, Andrea Lindstrom, and Tedd (Marsha) Cresmen, Andrew 
Pomranky and Stacey (Marlon) Walker; and eight great-grandchildren. She was 
preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Sliz.  Published in Midland Daily 
News from January 13 to January 21, 2016

Norma’s Notes:  Daughter of John Joseph & Irene (Covert) Peplin.  Her paternal 
grand parents were Felix Peplin and Anna Kelly.  Felix changed his name from 
Peplinski to Peplin.  Anna changed her name from Kieliszewsdki to Kelly.  She 
married Theodore Sliz in Detroit.   She is buried in Midland City Cemetery, 
Midland, Michigan
