Walter H Smith
Bad Axe, Jan 3 – Walter Hurd Smith, 50, farmer and milk hauler, died Tues in 
Hubbard Memorial hospital after an illness of 6 months. He is survived by his 
widow, Eunice L Smith, 4 sons, Walter, Paul, Arthur and Vern Smith, and 2 
daughters, Mrs Parthenia Gerber and miss Margaret Smith, all of Bad Axe; 2 
brothers, George G Smith, Bad Axe, and Theodore S Smith, Detroit, and a sister, 
Mrs Esther McLeod, Windsor, Ont. He was born July 6, 1899  in Colfax twp and was 
a lifelong resident of the twp. The remains are in the Alden A MacAlpine funeral 
home where Rev Robert E McLean, pastor of First Meth ch, will conduct funeral 
services at 2 p.m. Thurs. Burial will be in Colfax cemetery.
