Martin Henry Sofka
November 12, 1884 - September 17, 1960
Martin H. Sofka, 75, resident practically all his life of Huron County, died 
today in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Martin Sweeney, after an illness of six 
months.  Mr. Sofka was born November 12, 1884, in Paris Township, Huron County.  
He and Anna Geboski were married October 25, 1910, in St. Mary's Catholic 
church, Parisville.  Mr. and Mrs. Sofka moved four years ago to Florida.  They 
spent the last four months with their daughter.  

Mr. Sofka is survived by his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Adrianna (Lawrence) 
Wasierski, Bad Axe, and Mrs. Marcella (Tony) Cieslinski and Mrs. Bertha Sweeney, 
both of Ubly, son, Henry, Bad Axe, 19 grandchildren and a sister Mrs. Susan 
(Peter) Lemanski, Ubly.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St, Columbkille’s 
Catholic Church in Sheridan Township.  Rev. Edward R. Werm will officiate.  
Burial will be in the church cemetery.  The frmains wiil be in Zingerfuneral 
home, Ubly at 9 a.m. Sunday.  Father Werm will recite the Rosary there at 8 p.m. 
Monday.  Published  Port Huron  Times Herald Saturday September 17, 1960.
