Stomack, 89, of Minden City, passed away Feb. 5, 2013, after a short illness, with his family by his side, at Port Huron General Hospital. Clarence was born, on Dec. 25, 1923, to Peter and Lucille (Maikrzyk) Stomack. He married the love of his life, Theresa O’Parka, on November 15, 1952. The two of them celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last November. Clarence attended the North Minden Country School. He began his career by working for Michigan Peat before moving to the Detroit area and working in a factory. He decided that was not the life for him and moved back to Minden City and began farming. C.J. began his business of Greenview Farms, in which he was the owner, operator, bossman and the chief financial officer, until he retired. C.J. bailed and bought hay and straw from area farmers; it was then compressed and sold in several states and countries. C.J. was a member of the National Hay Association, the Oliver Tractor Association, a member of the Minden City Lions and a member of the Knights of Columbus Ruth Council 3823. He served his township for many years as a member of the zoning board, and was a life long member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. C. J.’s hobbies included snowmobiling, as he was a charter member of the Huron Line Snow Goers. His other interests were playing cards, country western music, dancing, puzzles, reading and time spent with his family. Clarence is survived by his wife, Theresa; sons, Randy (Kathy), Wayne (Kay), Brian, Clarence Jr., Eric (Denise) all of Minden City; and daughter, Cheryl (Doug) Plester of Port Hope. C.J. loved his five grandchildren, Chris, Nathan, Kayla, Evan and Courtney and step-granddaughter, Jodi Thoms; great- grandchildren, McKenzie, Addison, Ava, and Maddix. He is also survived by his sisters, Marie Zulka of Hamtramck, Theresa Bailey of St Charles, Lucille Daykin of Midland; and brother, Peter Stomack of Minden City. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Joan Grates and Alice Jeanette Stomack; and several brother-in-laws. Following C. J.’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Mass of the Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Parisville. Fr. Peter Nwokoye will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to the time of the mass at the church. Donations can be made to the family discretionary fund. Arrangements are being handled by the Apsey Funeral Home in Deckerville.
