He was born June 28, 1893 in Gagetown. He served in WWI in the 55th infantry Div from which he was discharged as a disabled veteran. He returned from the service and married Fannie O'Henley on May 10, 1921. They have resided on a farm since 1929. He served as school moderator of Sheridan school district for several years. He was active in Farm Bureau, veteran and community affairs. He served as treasurer of Sheridan twp and also worked on Soil Conservation Program. He was a member of Bad Axe council of Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society. Surviving are his wife, seven children Mrs CG Fisher, Detroit, Mrs James Dale, Clawson, Patrick, Bernard and Edward of Bad Axe, Angus and Gerald who are serving in the U S Army in Germany and France respectively; one son, Donald James, who died as an infant; one brother, James of Coloma MI; two sisters, Mrs Orville Milord, Toledo OH; Mrs Sherman P Roberts, three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from St Columbkille Cath ch, Sheridan Sat. The time of services are incomplete. Remains will be in his home Thurs afternoon and evening and then will e moved to Zinger's Funeral home, Ubly, until funeral. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
