Norman R. Susalla
June 25, 1919 - August 2, 2015  
Norman R. Susalla, 96, of Harbor Beach, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015, at 
Courtney Manor Nursing Center of Bad Axe.  He was born on June 25, 1919, in 
Parisville, to the late Robert and Anna (Moy) Susalla.  Norman and Marion 
Oberski were united in marriage on November 18, 1939, in Ruth.  She preceded 
him in death on Sept. 1, 2012. 
 
Norman was a retired employee of Hercules, Inc. retiring in 1983 with over 40 
years of service.  Norman served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  He was 
a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church and the Harbor Beach VFW 
Post.  He enjoyed engines and antique shows and attending flea markets.

Norman is survived by his son, Don Susalla and his wife, Arlene, of Shelby 
Township, daughter, Diana Booms and her husband, Tom, of Port Hope; six 
grandchildren, Tom (Jean) Booms, Tim (Roxanne) Booms, Lori Brown, Michael 
(Shawna) Susalla, Michelle Susalla, Mark (Alyson) Susalla; eight great-
grandchildren, Kyle, Trevor and Tyler Booms, Caitlyn and Keegan Booms, Paige 
and Hailey Susalla and Hunter Susalla, and his siblings, Arvin Susalla and his 
wife, Allene, of Melbourne, Florida, Alice Kosal, of Warren, Beatrice Kranz and 
her husband, Ray, of St. Clair Shores.

Norman was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Jessica Susalla and 
siblings, Joe Susalla, Lillian Puvalowski, Sylvia Lindsey, Marie Dean, JoAnne 
Fisher, Wilfred Susalla, Diane Susalla and Archie Susalla. 

Funeral services for Norman will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015 at the 
Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Burial will follow at the Our Lady of Lake 
Huron Church Cemetery.  Visitation for Norman will be from 10 a.m. until time 
of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.  HURON DAILY TRIBUNE August 4, 2015
