William Susalla
June 9, 1913 - December 24, 1989
Mr. William Susalla, 76, of Ubly, died Sunday, December 24, 1989, at Huron 
Memorial Hospital of an apparent heart attack.  He was born June 9, 1913 in 
Paris Township, son of the late Fabian and Mary (Abraham); Susalla.  He married. 
Miss Martha Leppek, January 18, 1941, in St. Mary's of Parisville.  He attended 
Parisville County School.  He moved to the Detroit area in 1940 and was employed 
by Gemmer Steering Gear and General Motors Fisher Body.  He retired from Fisher 
Body Piquette Plant in 1980.  He was a former parishioner of Immaculate 
Conception Parish of Poletown and St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Warren.  He was 
a former member of the Ushers Club and the Holy Name Society of both parishes. 

He is survived by his wife, Martha of Ubly; one brother, Jake Susalla of Ubly; 7 
sisters, Theresa Skipinski of Ubly, Mrs. Frank (Eleanor) Talaski of Harbor Beach 
Mrs. Isadora (Frances) Koceba of Bad Axe; Mrs. Gordon (Irene) Eden of Filion. 
Mrs. Eugene (Agnes) Gorkowski of Filion, Mrs. Clarence (Beatrice) Kubacki of 
Ubly, and Mrs. Herbert (Patricia) Vogel of Harbor Beach.  He was preceded in 
death by one brother, Arthur Susalla.  He died November 6, 1984, and one infant 
sister, Margaret in 1916. 

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 28, at 11 a.m. at St. John's 
Catholic Church of Ubly.  Rev. Peter Gaspney, pastor, will officiate.  Burial 
will be in the in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Parisville.   Arrangements were made by 
Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home, Ubly.  Published Minden City Herald Thursday 
December 28, 1989.
