Elmer F. Susalla 

Elmer F. Susalla, 88, of Harbor Beach passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009 at 
Port Huron Hospital.

He was born on Aug. 3, 1920 in Parisville to the late Alois and Lucy 
(Kucharczyk) Susalla. Elmer and Susan Warchuck were united in marriage in Ubly 
on April 26, 1940. She preceded him in death on Sept. 28, 2002.

Elmer retired from Circle Engineering in Sterling Heights working as a Tool & 
Dye Grinder. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church of Helena, and 
enjoyed hunting, especially fishing and gardening. Elmer also attended Al’s 
Restaurant with his lunch group for many years.

He is survived by his son, Dennis Susalla and his wife, Kim, of Sterling 
Heights; son-in-law, Richard Typinski of Shelby Township; sister, Virginia 
Leppek and her husband, Melvin of Ubly; and three grandchildren, Alex Susalla, 
Susan Typinski and Rick Typinski.

Elmer was preceded in death by his wife, Susan; sons, Elmer and Melvin Susalla; 
daughter, Shirley Typinski; and sister, Marian Klavon and her husband, Robert.

Funeral Mass for Elmer will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, 2009 in St. 
Anthony’s Catholic Church of Helena with Fr. Peter Nwokoye officiating. Burial 
will be in St. Mary’s Church Cemetery in Parisville.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. on Thursday in the Ramsey Funeral Home, 
Inc. and from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. on Friday in the 
church. The St. Anthony’s Men’s Club will have a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. on 
Thursday in the funeral home. A parish vigil service will take place at 8 p.m. 
on Thursday in the funeral home.
