Carl A Swanson
Ubly Dentist Dies On Tues Night of Heart Attack
Dr Carl Arthur Swanson, 50, Ubly, popular dentist and prominent civic leader, 
died unexpectedly Tues night in Hubbard Hospital following a heart attach. He 
was born April 24, 1903 in Crystal Falls, MI. He graduated from Dental School of 
the Univ of MI in 19?? And entered practice in Ubly the ?? year. He married Miss 
Grace Schw???ler, June 27, 1938 in Port Austin. He is survived by his widow, 
five sons, Paul 13, Fritz, 12, E???11, David 7, Carl 6; one daughter Ann 4; His 
father Nels P Swanson, Crystal Falls, one brother, Oscar Swanson, S Haven, one 
sister Mrs. C Ehlen, Chicago; Dr Swanson was past president of the Ubly 
Community Club, a member of Ubly community Recreation Committee, member of the 
American Dental Society. He was active in civic Affairs and a rabid sports fan. 
He was the organizer of the Swanson Sweed Band who played throughout the county. 
The cremains will be removed from the Zinger Funeral home Friday noon, to the 
Presbyterian ch, Ubly, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Rev Robert L 
Morton, pastor will officiate. Village president, Francis Hund has requested 
that business places be closed during the funeral.
