He was bean April 26, 1907 in Minden City, son of the late John and Mary (Fisher) Swartz. He married Bertha Trepkowski on April 23, 1928 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Parisville. Mr. Swartz was a graduate of West Minden City Elementary School and a lifelong farmer in the Minden City area. He worked for the Farmers Elevator Company in Minden City and the Minden City Oil Company. He was a former usher at St. Mary’s Parish and a lifelong parishioner. Surviving are his wife, Bertha of Minden City, three sons, Ronald of Detroit, James and his wife Patricia of Taylor and John and his wife Joyce of Saginaw; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph and his wife Christine of Livonia; and a sister, Irene Paetow of Bellevue. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Michael, Ted and Louis; and four sisters, Anna Duke, Matilda Martin, Margaret Clark and Lucy Obee. Services were Monday at St Mary's Catholic Church in Parisville. The Rev. Michael G. Dunckel, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the church, cemetery. Arrangements were conducted by Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly.
