He was born December 18, 1931 in Gagetown the fourth of five children born to Kazmier and Stefania (Pucylowski) Szarapski. He married Arlene Ann Wolschleger June 24, 1967 in Harbor Beach. Stan attended St. Agatha Catholic School and graduated from Cass City High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Stan worked for General Cable as a Supervisor retiring after many years of service. He was a member of St. Pancratius Catholic Church and was a member of Cass City Gagetown Knights of Columbus Council #8892. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, particularly his trips to Colorado to hunt moose and his trips up north to hunt deer and elk. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Stan loved to travel and spend time at his cabin near East Jordan. Stan is survived by his wife, Arlene; daughters: Renee (Michael) Cherowitz of Orlando, Florida, Stephanie Sieggreen of Bowling Green, Kentucky; granddaughters: Elyse, Alexa, Augustyna; brothers: Edward Szarapski of Sterling Heights, Chester (Mary) Szarapski of Groveland, Florida; sister-in-law, Norma Szarapski of Cass City; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by sister, Janina (Leon) Checkeroski; brother: Richard Szarapski; sisters-in-law: Gertrude Szarapski, Bernice Szarapski. Memorial service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2015 in Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Pancratius Catholic Church, Cass City with Rev. Christian Tabares officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
