She was born on August 17, 1915, in Ruth to the late Joseph and Lena (Braun) Schmitz of Huron County. She married Albert Tenbusch on November 27, 1940, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. After nearly 60 years of marriage, her husband preceded her in death on August 5, 2000. Anne was a graduate of SS. Peter and Paul Elementary School and a life-long parishioner of SS. Peter and Paul Parish in Ruth where she was an honorary member of the Christian Mothers' Society. Anne was a gifted seamstress designing patterns and constructing beautiful clothing. She was also talented in cross stitch, embroidery and crocheting. Her hobbies included baking, gardening, reading, and playing cards. A devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, Anne is survived by one son, James Tenbusch and his wife, Gretchen, of Bad Axe; five daughters, Diane Godi and her husband, Frank, of Frankenmuth, Judy Matuszewski and her husband, Arthur, of Frankenmuth, Alicia Mazure and her husband, Richard, of Ubly, Peggy Randall and her husband, Harold, of Caro, and Sally Bellsky and her husband, Chuck, of Frankenmuth; one step-son, Joseph Tenbusch of Hale; 17 grandchildren, Mary Birks, Christopher Godi, Michael and Cheryl Matuszewski, Karen Weber, Kevin and Paul Mazure, Becky Goodheart, Jason Cavitt, Matthew and Jordan Randall, David, Thomas and Jennifer Bellsky, Keith, Gregory, and Chad Tenbusch; four great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, John Tenbusch of Minden City and Edward Tenbusch of Grosse Pointe; one sister-in-law, Bea Tenbusch of Ruth; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Particka, Mary Schumacher, and Rose Tenbusch; and one brother, Anthony Schmitz. Mass of Christian burial for Anne Tenbusch will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2001, in the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Ruth with the Rev. Steve Gavit, pastor, and the Rev. Ramon Matuszewski officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Christian Mothers Rosary will be at 8 tonight and a Parish Wake Service will be at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, both at the Zinger- Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 9:30 tonight, 1 to 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to SS. Peter and Paul Parish in Ruth, St. Mary's Hospital Foundation in Saginaw, for masses or for the charity of the donor's choice.
