Deanna C. (McLean) Trepkowski  
December 28, 1939 – April 28, 2011

Deanna C. Trepkowski, 71, of Ubly, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011 
surrounded by her family at her residence under hospice care.  Deanna was born 
December 28, 1939 in Austin Township to the late Duncan and Nona (Karl) 
McLean.  She married Richard Trepkowski on May 14, 1960 at St. Joseph Catholic 
Church in Argyle.

She was a lifelong resident of the Ubly area.  She graduated from the Freiburg 
Elementary School and Ubly High School.  Deanna played in the high school band 
and was a cheerleader.  She worked at Ann-Rods in Cass City and Deckerville Die 
Form.  She was Co-owner of Trepkowski’s Dry Goods in Ubly.  She was a 
parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Church in Ubly.  She enjoyed bowling, 
camping, cooking and spending time at the cottage.

Deanna is survived by her husband of 50 years, Richard, of Ubly; two sons, Karl 
and his wife, Delphine, and Kevin and his wife, Lori, both of Ubly; five 
grandsons, Nicholas, Nathan, Zac, Rob and Michael; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis 
Dutkowski of Leonard, Arlene Susalla and her husband, Don, of Shelby Township; 
three brothers-in-law, Joseph Trepkoski and his wife, Eileen, of Ubly, John 
Trepkowski and his wife, Nona, of Sandusky, Timothy Trepkowski and his special 
friend, Jackie, of Georgia; several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in 
death by three sisters, Willerton Wheeler and her husband, Alex, Coletta Farmer 
and her husband, Hank, and Mary McLean; three brothers, Wallace McLean and his 
wife, Esther, Gerald McLean and his wife, Lenora, and Carl McLean; brother-in-
law, Tom Dutkowski.

The funeral Mass for Deanna will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2011 at St. John the 
Evangelist Catholic Church in Ubly. The Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor of St. 
John’s in Ubly, will officiate with the Rev. Patrick O’Connor, pastor of St. 
John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Essexville, co-concelebrating. Burial 
will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Sunday at the 
Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly and from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the church 
only. There will be a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral 
home.  The family has requested memorials be made to United Hospice of Marlette.
