Ubly Man Dies Attending Mass Ubly, March 23 Joseph Trepkowski, 79, lifelong 
resident of Huron County, died unexpectedly today in St. John, the 
Evangelist Catholic church where he was attending Mass.  Mr. Trepkowski is 
survived by his widow. Ottilia: 62 descendants, including five sons, Leo 
Trepkowski, Detroit, Walter Trepkowski, Palms, Julius and Joseph Trepkowski 
Jr. both of Ruth, and Ira Trepkowski, Tyre; five daughters. Mrs. Martha 
(Joseph) Jaroch and Mrs. Laura Alent, both of Ubly, Mrs. Blanche Makowski, 
Ruth, Mrs. Bertha Schwartz, Minden City, and Mrs. Margaret Klebba, Harbor 
Beach; 42 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, two brothers. Louis and 
Frank Trepkowski, both of Bay Citv, and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Goretski, Ubly.  
He was born June 19, 1869 in Paris Township where he farmed until he retired 
to Ubly five years ago.  Published Port Huron Times Herald Wed. March 23,

Ubly, March 24 Funeral services for Joseph Trepkowski Sr., 79, who died 
unexpectedly Wednesday while attending mass in St. John, the Evangelist, 
Catholic church, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic 
church in Parisville.   Rev. Michael J. Kujawa will officiate.  Burial will 
be in the church cemetery.  The remains are in the home on the family 
homestead in Paris Township where Mr. Trepkowski was born and lived 75 years 
before he moved to Ubly.  His son, Joseph Jr., now lives on the farm.  
Rosary devotions will be conducted there at 8:30 p.m. Friday. Through error, 
the name of a sister, Mrs. Anna Rechelski, Bay City, was omitted and the 
name of another sister, Mrs. Susan Goretski, Ubly, was printed incorrectly 
in the obituary Wednesday.  Published Port Huron Times Herald Thursday March

Married Ottilia Gwisdalla on January 14, 1891 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in
