August Van Hevel, 83,
passed away Thurs morning in Bad Axe General Hospital after a short illness. He 
was born Oct 17, 1875 in Belgium and came to Colfax twp in 1912. Mr VanHevel 
retired as a farmer in 1945 and moved to Bad Axe where he has lived since. 
Survivors are his wife, Zulma; 2 daughters, Miss Mary VanHevel, Detroit and Mrs 
Earl Thompson, Garden City; 2 sons, Maurice VanHevel, Warren and Charles A 
VanHevel, Bad Axe; five grandchildren. Remains are at MacAlpine funeral home. 
Funerals services will be at 9 a.m. on in Sacred Heart Cath ch. Burial will be in 
Sacred Heart cemetery.
