(Hessling) Volmering May 8, 1927 – May 15, 2018 Mrs. Margaret P. Volmering, 91, of Bad Axe, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at the Huron Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. She was born on May 8, 1927, in Ruth to the late Charles and Mary (Emming) Hessling. She married Aloysius "Al" Volmering on January 26, 1946, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. He preceded her in death on September 23, 2007. Margaret was proud to be a farmer's wife. She worked for Midwest Rubber for 26 years before she retired. She was a parishioner of Holy Apostles Parish in Ruth, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. She was a caregiver to many ladies in the area for 10 years. She loved gardening and quilting, making many quilts over the years for her loving family. Margaret cherished spending time with her family, especially her loving grandchildren. Margaret is survived by three daughters, Judy Miller and her fiance`, Albert, of Shelby Township, Joyce (John) Kulish of South Lyon and Joanne (Mark) Maurer of Bad Axe; three sons, Earl (Molli) Volmering of Cass City, Gary (Karen) Volmering of Ruth and Herbert (Marian) Volmering of Howell; 13 grandchildren, Rene` Popour, Eric (Jeanna) Klebba, Jennifer (Mike) Jarvis, Dr. John (Dr. Jen) Kulish, MD, Jeremy (Nikki) Maurer, Liza (Jeff) Zulauf, Evan, Anthony and Jason Volmering, Cheryl (Michael) Scott, Amy Polega, Jason Polega and Sara (Chad) Santos; 23 great grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four sisters, Angeline Burkhard, Rosemary Sherman, Audrey (Kenneth) Wolschlager and Beatrice (Dan) Guigar all of Bad Axe; one sister-in-law, Margaret Hessling of Livonia. S he was preceded in death by two grandsons, Ryan Maurer and Patrick Sweeney; three sisters, Elizabeth (Alvin) Landra, Rita (Robert) Ostrander and Theresa (Victor) Durrand; two brothers, Clarence Hessling and Charles (Janet) Hessling; three sisters-in-law, Elizabeth (Clement) Geiger, Mary (Bernard) Gentner and Irene (Robert) Holdwick; four brothers-in-law, Harley Burkhard, William (Anna) Volmering, Vincent (Alvina) Volmering, Alexander (Theresa) Volmering and Cornelius (Evelyn) Volmering. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Holy Apostles Parish in Ruth. Rev. Christopher Coman, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. Memorials have been requested to Margaret's family.
