Marvin Eugene Volmering
December 27, 1939 — May 30, 2023
Mr. Marvin Eugene Volmering, 83 of Ruth, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 
Lake Huron Medical Center in Port Huron after a short illness.  Marvin was born 
on December 27, 1939 to the late Vincent and Alvina (Weber) Volmering.  He 
married Mary Lemanski on October 5, 1963 at St. Mary Catholic Church in 
Parisville.  She preceded him in death on June 21, 2012.  Marvin was a 
parishioner of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Holy Apostles Parish in Ruth.  
He was a member of the Farm Bureau Elm Creek card club for many years.  Marvin 
was a farmer as well as working at Active/Tower for 36 years before retiring in 
2004.  After he retired, Marvin enjoyed helping his son farm for many years.  He 
always enjoyed a good game of euchre whenever he could play and enjoyed polka 
music and dancing.  Marvin truly enjoyed spending time with all of his children, 
grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Marvin is survived by his 5 children, Susan (Paul) Ternes of Portage, Marlene 
(Ray) Mears of Ruth, Norma Volmering (Significant Other Kim Loeffler) of Elkton, 
Michael Volmering of Ruth, Beverly Steinbis of Bad Axe; 11 grandchildren; 6 
great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Leo, Laverne (Mary Ann) and Kenneth (Linda); 
one sister, Jane (Dave) Wisneski; many in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces and 
nephews.  Marvin was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jerry Steinbis and one 
sister-in-law, Kay Volmering.

Mass of Christian burial for Marvin will be 11:00 am Monday, June 5 at Sts. 
Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Holy Apostles Parish in Ruth.  Rev. Robert Kelm, 
pastor will officiate.  Marvin will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, 
Mary is the Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Ruth.  Visitation will be at the 
Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Sunday, June 4 from 2:00-8:00 pm and 
at church on Monday from 10:00-10:45 am.  There will be a parish vigil service 
Sunday evening at 6:30 pm at the funeral home.  Huron Daily Tribune on June 1,
