Ronald Anthony Volmering Sr. January 11, 1941 - July 16, 2023 Ronald A. Volmering Sr., age 82, of Harbor Beach, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw. He was born on January 11, 1941 at home in Ruth, Michigan, to the late Cornelius and Evelyn (Artman) Volmering. He served in the US Army from 1960 to 1962. He and Jane Schumacher were united in marriage on April 16, 1966 in Ruth. Ron was a former employee of Gemini Plastics and Ruth Farmers Elevator. Ron was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 197 of Harbor Beach, the Knights of Columbus, sang in the OLLH Church Choir, a eucharistic minister, and formerly a lector of Ruth Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, camping, wood working, going to and watching the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers and the Michigan Panthers. He was a former Harbor Beach School Board member from 1983-1991. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jane Volmering of Harbor Beach, children: Heidi (Donald Sr.) Zoll of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Jill Volmering (Jim Fagan) of Harbor Beach, Ronald Volmering Jr. (Kathy Willing) of Harbor Beach, grandchildren: Audrey, Adrianne (Derek), Veronica, Donald Jr., Matthew, Emily, Austin, grand-dog Remmy, his siblings: Sharon Mausolf of Harbor Beach, Elaine Williamson of Vassar, Paul (Dennise) Volmering of Pinckney, sisters-in- law Jackie Volmering and Arlene Martin, and brother-in-law Donald Kirsch, and many nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by a brother Robert Volmering, in-laws Lloyd and Betty Schumacher, Richard Martin, Ann and John Uicker, Tom Schumacher, Bessie Kirsch, and nephew Terry Kirsch. Funeral Services for Ron will be Friday, July 21, 2023 at 11 am at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church of the Holy Name of Mary Parish, with Fr. Kevin Wojciechowski officiating. Burial will follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Visitation for Ron will be Thursday, from 2-8 pm at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Friday, will be at the church beginning at 10 am until time of services at 11 am. A K of C Rosary will take place Thursday, at the funeral home at 6 pm.
