Richard Warchuck Sr. 
Huron Daily Tribune 
Mr. Richard Charles Warchuck, Sr., 69, of Ruth and Hale, died Wednesday, June 
9, 2004, at the Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe. 
He was born Oct. 6, 1934, in Detroit, son of the late Joseph Paul and Mamie 
Magdalene (Deachin) Warchuck. 
He married Rita Mabel Holdwick on Nov. 29, 1952, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic 
Church in Ruth. 
Mr. Warchuck attended Minden City School. He was a former Sherman Township 
treasurer, supervisor and assessor. He was a long-time farmer and was employed 
by the Upjohn Corporation in the Economical Division. He enjoyed hunting, 
fishing, woodworking, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. 
Mr. Warchuck was a parishioner of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Ruth 
and a current parishioner of St. Pius Catholic Church of Hale. He was a member 
of the Eagles Club in Hale. 
He is survived by his wife, Rita Warchuck of Ruth and Hale; five sons, Richard 
Warchuck, Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Ruth, Randy Warchuck and his wife, 
Deborah, of Ruth, Tim Warchuck and his wife, Lori, of Smith's Creek, Doug 
Warchuck and his wife, Pam, of Harbor Beach, Jeff Warchuck and his wife, Mandi, 
of Corona, Calif.; eight daughters, Cindy Osantowski and her husband, Gary, of 
Ubly, Linda Nowiski and her husband, Ron, of Harbor Beach, Sandy Klaus and her 
husband, Ken, of Palms, Debbie Grifka and her husband, Tim, of Japan, Kathy 
Leavine and her husband, Larry, of Ubly, Bonnie Thoms and her husband, Glen, of 
Marne, Wendy Volmering and her husband, Rich, of Harbor Beach, Becky Kirsch and 
her husband, Rod, of Harbor Beach; 46 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 
one sister, Marie Macker of Memphis. 
Mr. Warchuck was preceded in death by one son, James Warchuck; two grandsons, 
Joey Lemanski and Scott Mausolf; two brothers, Bernard Warchuck and Marvin 
Warchuck. 
Funeral mass for Richard C. Warchuck, Sr. will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, 
June 14, 2004, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. The Rev. Steven 
Gavit, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. 
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, from 1 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, 
and from 9 until 10 a.m. on Monday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in 
Ubly. There will be a parish vigil service at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral 
home by Fr. Gavit.
