She was born on July 26, 1928 to the late Frank Lackowski and Julia (Kucharczyk) Lackowski. Virginia and Ernest Watchowski were married August 27, 1949, and were married for 63 years before Ernie passed away. Virginia was a member of St. Hubert Parish/ Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Bad Axe, and was a member of the Daughter's of Isabella. She loved to cook and tend to her large vegetable garden, she bowled on the MacAlpine Funeral Home team in her early days, and enjoyed trips to the casino's as often as possible. She loved Polka music and would dance around her house to the enjoyment of her children. Virginia is survived by her children; Debra (Douglas) Keyworth of Elkton, Michigan, Pamela (Robert) Linton of Flagler Beach, Florida, Sharon Sweet of Traverse City, Michigan, son in law James Long of Saginaw, Michigan, and Curtis (Lynda) Watchowski of Ubly, Michigan; grandchildren Scott (Shelly) Keyworth, Jill (Jason) Stein, Rochelle (Josh) Wilke, Nathan (Janene) Neal, Elizabeth "Beth" (Nick) Holzworth, Amy (Brent) Garvin, Melisa Long, Ryan Long, Brandon (Alesha) Watchowski, Jonathan Watchowski; great grandchildren Laura, Cole, Tori, Kirsten, Blake, Natalie, Evelyn "Eva", Isla and Vivian; many nieces and nephews. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Ernie, her daughter Nancy Long, and her thirteen siblings. Mass of Christian burial will be September 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Hubert Parish/ Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe with Fr. T.J. Fleming officiating. Visitation will be at MacAlpine Mac Chapel, Bad Axe, Michigan from 2-8 PM with a Daughter of Isabella Rosary service at 7:00 at the MacAlpine Mac Chapel, and also from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic church cemetery, Bad Axe Michigan. Memorials may be offered to the family discretionary fund c/o Debra Keyworth.
