Rites Set Monday In Providence, R.I.
Bad Axe, July 13 -- Funeral services for Lt (jg) Frederick C Weber, USN, 23, son 
of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond V Weber will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Blessed 
Sacrament Cath ch in Providence, R.I.  Burial will be in a cemetery in that 
city. Providence is the home of Lieutenant Weber's widow, the former Claire 
Steeves, whom he married April 21, 1951. 

Mr and Mrs Weber and family left today for Providence. Lt Weber, a Korean war 
veteran was killed Wed in the crash of training plane near Cah.(rest of sentence 
missing) Lt Weber was transferred to Corpus Christi May 15 where he became an 
instructor in flying jet airplanes. He was promoted from ensign to Lieutenant 
junior grade on June 5. 

Born in Detroit November 14, 1927, Fred came to Bad Axe with his parents in 
1928. He graduated from Sacred Heart grade school and attended Bad Axe high 
school for three years where he was on outstanding student and athlete. He 
graduated from high school at Assumption, Ontario. He resigned an appointment to 
the U S Naval academy at Annapolis to enlist in the Naval Air corps in Sept 
1945. In the navy V-5 program, he attended Colgate University for one year and 
the University of Detroit for a year. 

Lt Weber is survived by his widow, his parents, four brothers, Raymond, Abilene, 
TX; George, Maryknoll, NY and John and Richard, both at home; two sisters, Miss 
Louise Weber, Detroit, and Sister Alma Virginia, a Maryknoll nun in Wialua, 
Oahu, HI.
