Weltin, 82, of Ubly, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2005, at her residence. She was born on December 3, 1922 in Berlin, New Hampshire to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Drotar) Goda. She married Aaron J. Weltin on May 2, 1959 at St. Agatha Catholic Church in Gagetown. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1992. Mary attended school in Gagetown. She was employed at Burroughs in Detroit and General Cable in Cass City. She also farmed with her husband for many years in the Ubly area. She was a former member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Smith Corners and attended St. John Catholic Church of Ubly. She was an avid reader. She loved playing cards and enjoyed polkas and country music. Mary is survived by a special nephew, Michael, and his wife, Carol Kubacki and their family of Ubly; two sisters, Rose Osentoski, of Cass City, and Anna Kubacki, of Ubly; five sisters- in-law, Claire Grifka, Joan Mahoney, Marion Weltin, Ilene Franzel, Irene Fodo; one brother-in- law, John T. Maurer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth (Drotar) Rusnak and Joseph Goda; her step-father, Michael Rusnak; mother and father-in- law, Joseph and Lylan Weltin; four brothers, John, Joseph, Paul, and Frank Goda; two sisters, Margaret Walters and Elizabeth Csernyik; five sisters-in-law, Sylvia Goda, Caroline Goda, Helen Maurer, Lylan Messing and Marie Abraham; 11 brothers-in-law, Enoch Osentoski, Raymond Kubacki, Fritz Csernyik, Stanley Walters, Wilfred Messing, Paul Abraham, Clarence Grifka, Dan Mahoney, James Weltin, Alfred Weltin, and Calvin Weltin. A Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2005, at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. The Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly.
