She was born June 4, 1935, in Minden City, daughter of the late Jacob and Martha (Gosdzinski) Kanaby. She married Elmer R. Williams on May 7, 1955, in St. Patrick Catholic Church in Palms. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 2007. Eleanor attended Minden City grade school and graduated from Ubly High School. She attended Northeastern School of Commerce of Bay City, and St. Clair Community College with an associate’s degree in business. She worked at Detroit Edison Co., Agrico Chemical Co., and S.T. & H. Oil Co. She helped start the Queen Bees Extension Study Group, and has had many offices in extension, including county secretary. She was secretary for St. Rita’s Altar Society and secretary at Rapson Sportsmen’s Club. She lived 40 years in the Rapson area, three years in Louisiana, then moved to the Bad Axe area. Eleanor is survived by a son, Paul Williams of Texas; two daughters, Diane Hamm of Ira and Janice (Mike) Pulaskey of Bad Axe; four grandchildren, Alaina Williams of Texas, Jacob Hamm of Ira, Jodie Hamm of Memphis, Michigan, and Nicholas Pulaskey of Bad Axe; step-brother, George (Millie) Gosdzinski of Brooklyn, Michigan; step-sister, Marie Zurek of Walled Lake; three sisters-in- law, Mildred Steciak of Bad Axe, Irene (Arnold) Stirrett of Sterling Heights and Eleanor Bambach of Bad Axe. She is predeceased by a son, Roger Williams; sister, Dolores Carney; step- sister, Bernadette Nutt; four step-brothers, Joe, Alfred, Harold and Virgil Gosdzinski; a sister-in-law, Caroline Williams; four brothers-in-law, Alvin Williams, Ted Steciak, Steve Bambach and Gordon Carney. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rapson. Officiating will be Fr. Rob Howe, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitors may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe, or from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church. A Daughter of Isabella rosary will be offered at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
