August Wolschlager (bef 1921)
passed quietly into the great beyond Mon, Feb 9th, at his home after a short 
illness of influenza. August was born July 19, 1887, leaving this world just in 
the prime of life at the age of 32 years, five months and 20 days. He was born 
in Sand Beach twp, but came with his parents to Sheridan 20 years ago. About 12 
years ago he married Della Depsinski and to them 7 children were born, 6 of whom 
are living. A little one died a few months ago. August was well liked by all who 
knew him. He worked hard for a home and comfort for his wife and family. Luck 
did not always come his way. A short time ago he had the misfortune to lose an 
eye, being hurt accidentally. After that he neer seemed so well but bore his 
misfortune uncomplainingly His last words were: "Della, who will car for my 
little ones?" His wife was very sick at the same time also of flu. He leaves his 
wife and children, 6 brothers and 2 sisters and an aged father and mother to 
mourn his loss. On account of the illness of Fr Courtney, Fr Crowley of Kinde 
officiated at the grave. Six of his every day friends acted as pall bearers and 
the remains were laid to rest in the Colfax cemetery. With extreme sympathy the 
hearts of all the community are extended to the widow yet so young and the 
little babies who will hardly remember that they had a father.
