Steven S. Wolschlager
Steven S. Wolschlager, 58, of Bad Axe, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, at 
his home with family at his side, following a brave battle with cancer.  He was 
born on Sept. 24, 1956, son of Stanley and Josephine (Pikula) Wolschlager.  He 
married Jo Barry on April 11, 1981, in St. Columbkille Catholic Church.  
Steven owned and operated ABC Oil and Gas for 20 years, and was co-owner of the 
original D & W Salvage.  He had also worked for Huron & Eastern Railroad and 
was a certified mechanic.  Steven enjoyed experimenting with building furnaces 
and helping friends with repairs.  He liked farming and riding his Harley.   
Steven was well known for hosting his annual Dec. 3 party, which started in his 
teen years.  
He is survived by his wife, Jo Wolschlager of Bad Axe; son, Todd Wolschlager of 
Bad Axe; his parents, Stanley and Josephine Wolschlager of Bad Axe; his mother-
in-law, Bernice Barry of Bad Axe; his father-in-law-Eugene (John) Barry of 
Elkton; brother, Gordon (Rhonda) Wolschlager; sisters, Rose Hinman and Judy 
Wolschlager; brothers-in-law, James (Kayla) Barry and Jeff Barry; sisters-in-
law, Jonnie Peyerk, Jean Dean, Jeryl Purtell and Jana Barry; and several 
nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Steven’s family wish to invite all those who knew and loved him to a Mass of 
Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Parish-St. Columbkille 
Church.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1 to 8 
p.m. Thursday at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe, or from 10 a.m. until the 
time of service Friday at the church.   Published November 19, 2014 HURON DAILY
