Published September 22, 2015 HURON DAILY TRIBUNE Melvin Wolschlager, 87, of Sheridan Township passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015, at Huron Medical Care Facility, surrounded by his family. He was born June 11, 1928, at home in Bad Axe, son of the late Frank and Agnes (Depcinski) Wolschlager. Melvin married Lorraine Messing April 8, 1961, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. He was a lifelong Sheridan Township farmer who enjoyed watching “I Love Lucy,” the Detroit Tigers, playing euchre and Chinese Checkers. He was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. Melvin is survived by his wife, Lorraine; three daughters, Frances (Todd) Wiley of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Bernadette Frady of Sumter, South Carolina, and Tina (Mark) Corless of Beverly Hills, Michigan; two sons, Greg Wolschlager and special friend Jackie Younglove, of Cass City and Richard (Linda) Wolschlager, of West Bloomfield; one sister, Evelyn Ochoa, of Bad Axe; two brothers, Stanley (Josephine) Wolschlager, of Bad Axe and Kenneth (Audrey) Wolschlager, of Bad Axe; eight grandchildren, Allison Frady, of Reston, Virginia, Mariah Frady, of Sumter, South Carolina, Emily Corless, of Beverly Hills, Michigan, Mark Corless, Jr., of Beverly Hills, Michigan, Nikki Younglove, of Cass City, Breanna Wolschlager, of Cass City, Lauren Guz, of Birmingham and Brad Guz, of New York City and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Raymond, Wilmer, Archie, Elgin and Joseph Wolschlager; one sister, Ernestine Hessling; three brothers-in-law, Audrez Ochoa, Ralph Volmering and Elmer Hessling and two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Wolschlager and Marian Wolschlager. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at St. Hubert Parish Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church. A Daughters of Isabella rosary will be offered at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, a Knights of Columbus chalice service at 6:45 p.m. and a parish scripture service a 7 p.m., all at the funeral home.
