Stanley was born in Bad Axe on June 24, 1926, son of the late Frank and Agnes (Depcinski). He married Josephine Pikula on September 4, 1954, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Bad Axe. Stanley was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he was a Eucharistic Minister, an usher and a past member of the Sacred Heart Church Council. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1546 and a 4th Degree member of Bishop Babcock assembly in the Color Corp, serving as Grand Knight and 4th Degree Navigator. He attended the Becking Rural School, and after high school graduation, Stanley attended Michigan State University for agriculture. He worked as a machinist, did excavating work, and retired from working at the church as a bus driver and groundskeeper. He enjoyed farming all of his life and part of that was being a 4-H Leader. He loved gardening, his apple orchard and sharing his harvest with others. He loved taking care of the lawn and flower beds, playing cards, playing softball, watching the Detroit Tigers, ice cream, making popcorn balls for Halloween, Florida winters, and especially spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends. Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Wolschlager, of Sheridan Township, on Dec. 1, 2018. Stanley is survived by son, Gordon (Rhonda) Wolschlager, of Fort Collins, Colorado; daughter, Rose Ann Hinman, of Macomb, special friend (Rob); daughter-in-law, Jo Wolschlager, of Bad Axe; brother, Kenneth (Audrey) Wolschlager; in-laws, Jenny (Russell) Woodliff, of Lincoln Park and Lorraine Wolschlager, of Bad Axe; grandchildren, Seth (Lauren) Wolschlager, Jared (Marie) Wolschlager, Todd Wolschlager, Renee (Ed) Boyd, Ryan Hinman special friend (Vicki), Martin Wolschlager and Jill (Gavin) Bowers; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Eliana Boyd; and many nieces and nephews. Stanley was preceded in death by wife, Josephine Wolschlager; son, Steven Wolschlager; daughters, Judith Lynn Wolschlager and Baby Stella Agnes Wolschlager; and Raymond, Archie, Wilmer (Marion), Melvin, Elgin (MaryJane) Wolschlager, Evelyn (Henne) Ochoa, Ernestina (Ralph) Volmering, (Elmer) Hessling and Harry Ozanic. A Mass of Christian Burial for Stanley and Josephine will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11 at St. Hubert Parish - Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Bad Axe. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 10 or from 9:30 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the church. A Knights of Columbus rosary and Challice service will be offered at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home, followed by a scripture service at 7.
